Spicy Sweet Strawberry Balsamic Salsa

Spicy Sweet Strawberry Balsamic Salsa

It is FINALLY strawberry season here and the picking is phenomenal! Our version of salsa combines fresh picked fruit with sweet spiciness for a versatile, season-long dish that will surely please everyone! Serve with lime tortilla or pita chips, with chicken, fish or try as a delicous Pavlova or panna cotta topper. Works great as a bruschetta, as well.

INGREDIENTS:

2 pints fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped

1/4 cup purple onion, chopped finely

1 yellow bell pepper, diced

1 clove garlic, minced

1 lime, zested then juiced

1 orange, zested

4 basil leaves, torn

4 TBSP BCOO Sweet Strawberry Aged Balsamic

8 TBSP BCOO Green Chili Fused Olive Oil*

Fresh mint leaves

INSTRUCTIONS:

Prepare fruit and vegetables as noted above in bowl.

Combine BCOO Sweet Strawberry Aged Balsamic and BCOO Green Chili Fused Olive Oil and pour over salsa**. Shred mint leaves on top and serve immediately.

NOTES:

*If the Green Chili Fused Olive Oil is too spicy for you (it's very hot!) try our Tahitian LIme Fused Olive Oil or Blood Orange Fused Olive Oil for a citrus burst.

**If not serving immediately, place mixture in fridge. Re-mix and pour immediately prior to serving.
