Strawberry Balsamic Sangria

A delicious deck sipper for Cinco de Mayo and the entire summer season. Try this refreshing twist on the classic sangria recipe.

INGREDIENTS:

1 pint fresh, rip strawberries, washed and sliced

1/4 cup sugar

1/4 cup BCOO Sweet Strawberry Aged Balsamic

1 750ml bottle Pinot Noir or Grenache, chilled

1/4 cup Brandy

1 large orange, halved

1 lemon, thinly sliced

2 cups Prosecco, chilled (may sub seltzer water)

mint to garnish

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

1) Wash and slice 3/4 of strawberries, save rest for later

2) Add strawberries, sugar and BCOO Sweet Strawberry Balsamic to pitcher, stir and allow to sit for 1 hour.

3)Add wine and brandy to pitcher

4)Juice 1/2 orange into pitcher

5) Thinly slice remaining orange. Add orange slices, lemon slices and half of remaining whole berries to pitcher.

6) Chill in refrigerator for 2-3 hours.

7) When completely chilled and ready to serve, add Prosecco to pitcher.

8) Serve in glasses with mint sprig and garnish with strawberry
