Strawberry Balsamic Sangria

A delicious deck sipper for Cinco de Mayo and the entire summer season. Try this refreshing twist on the classic sangria recipe.

INGREDIENTS

1 pint fresh, ripe strawberries, washed and sliced
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup BCOO Sweet Strawberry Aged Balsamic Vinegar
1 750ml bottle Pinot Noir or Grenache, chilled
1/4 cup Brandy
1 large orange, halved
1 lemon, thinly sliced
2 cups Prosecco, chilled (may sub seltzer water)
Fresh mint to garnish

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Wash and slice 3/4 of the strawberries; save the rest for garnish.
  2. Add strawberries, sugar, and Sweet Strawberry Balsamic to a pitcher. Stir and allow to sit for 1 hour.
  3. Add wine and brandy to the pitcher.
  4. Juice half the orange into the pitcher.
  5. Thinly slice the remaining orange half. Add orange slices, lemon slices, and half of the remaining whole berries to the pitcher.
  6. Chill in the refrigerator for 2–3 hours.
  7. When completely chilled and ready to serve, add Prosecco to the pitcher.
  8. Serve in glasses with a mint sprig and garnish with a strawberry.
